Kanye West postponed his June 11 concert in Marseille indefinitely after French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez moved to block the performance. The decision comes one week after the UK government banned the rapper from entering Britain, forcing the cancellation of his headline slot at London's Wireless Festival.

French media reported that Nunez was exploring "all possibilities" to prohibit West from performing in the country. An unnamed source close to the minister told AFP that Nunez was "highly determined" to ban the event.

After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice

The postponement represents another setback for West's attempted return to mainstream performance after years of antisemitic statements that have drawn widespread condemnation. In 2022, he posted on social media that he would go "death con 3 On Jewish people" and later appeared on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones's podcast, where he said he saw "good things about Hitler."

West has faced mounting resistance across Europe to his planned summer tour. Marseille Mayor Benoît Payan declared in March that West was not welcome in his city, writing on X that he refused to let Marseille become "a platform for hate and shameless Nazism."

The BBC frames this as a straightforward consequence of West's documented antisemitic statements, emphasizing the UK government's decisive action in blocking his entry. Their coverage focuses on the administrative process and official justifications, reflecting Britain's position as the first European country to take concrete action against the rapper's tour.
