London's Metropolitan Police have launched a hate crime investigation following an arson attack that destroyed four volunteer ambulances belonging to Hatzola, a Jewish emergency medical service organization, in the early hours of Monday morning in north London.
The incident occurred in Stamford Hill, an area home to one of Europe's largest Orthodox Jewish communities. Security footage captured individuals deliberately setting fire to the vehicles, which were parked outside the charity's headquarters. All four ambulances were completely destroyed in the blaze, which emergency services contained before it could spread to nearby buildings.
