San Francisco police arrested a 20-year-old man after he threw a Molotov cocktail at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's home early Friday morning, igniting an exterior gate before fleeing on foot.
The attack occurred at approximately 4 a.m. local time in the North Beach neighborhood. Officers responded to reports of an incendiary device being thrown at the residence, which set fire to part of the property's entrance gate.
Less than an hour later, police received another call about a man threatening to burn down a building near OpenAI's headquarters, roughly three miles away. Officers recognized the individual as the same suspect from the earlier incident and detained him.
